Celebrating the Day of the Elderly: Promoting Mental and Physical Health through the Short Film “Sharac”
The Association for Education, Promotion and Protection of Health and Human Rights “Be Human” and the Pensioners’ Movement (IOPD) “Tuka sme” are particularly honored to inform you that they are celebrating the Day of the Elderly – October 1st, with panel discussions and screenings of the short film “Sharac”.
“Sharac addresses the mental and physical health challenges faced by the older generation. This day serves as a vital reminder to recognize the invaluable contribution of older individuals to our society and the importance of ensuring their well-being.
Established by the United Nations in 1990, the Day of Older Persons emphasizes the need for societies to value and support their aging population. As we celebrate this day, we must reflect on the unique challenges that older adults face, including isolation, mental health problems, and limited access to healthcare.

“Sharac” is more than just a film; it is a powerful narrative that explores the reality of aging. Through engaging storytelling and authentic characters, we aim to foster empathy and understanding, encouraging viewers to engage in meaningful conversations about the mental and physical health of adults. Our goal is to inspire both individuals and communities to take active steps towards improving the lives of our older citizens.
